ZIMO — Documentary Wear

ZIMO is an independent fashion brand founded in New York in 2021 by designer Zimo Yan. Rooted in the philosophy of “Fashion Documentary,” the label creates documentary-inspired clothing that reinterprets fading memories and overlooked objects from 1990s East Asian culture.

Through experimental silhouettes, innovative craftsmanship and the use of deadstock materials, ZIMO transforms cultural fragments into pieces that invite people to wear their memories. The collections explore vegan leather, sculptural tailoring and tactile details across tops, jackets, dresses, skirts, pants and accessories.

About Zimo Yan

Zimo Yan is a recipient of the CFDA+ Design Graduate honor and the IDA Design Award. Her experience includes Proenza Schouler, Prabal Gurung and 3.1 Phillip Lim. ZIMO debuted on the official New York Fashion Week schedule in 2022 and has been featured in WWD, W Magazine, ELLE and Hypebae.
